Data Mining

  • It is the computational process of discovering patterns in large data sets involving methods at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, and database systems.
Why is it called data mining rather than knowledge mining?
  • Data mining means extracting facts from the available data. While Knowledge means a deep study of those facts.
  • We do not collect knowledge but facts.
