Define the following.
  1. Favorable event
  2. Random variable
  3. Probability density function

Favorable event:

The outcomes which make necessary the happening of event in a trial are called Favorable event.
 

Random Variable

An experiment, in which we know all the possible outcomes in advance but which of them will occur is known only after the experiment is performed, is called a Random Variable.
 

Probability density function

If X is a continuous random variable then its probability function f(x) is called continuous probability function OR probability density function. It is defined as below.
